The mission of the Doctoral Program in Education offered by San Diego State University and Claremont Graduate University is to develop scholars who are committed to research on democratic schooling, social justice and equal educational outcomes for all students, and the improvement of educational systems serving diverse communities.
SDSU-USD Joint Doctoral Program
The San Diego State University - University of San Diego Doctoral Program builds on the strengths, resources, and capabilities of two major institutions of higher education in San Diego. Candidates will be prepared for leadership roles in education through an in-depth study of theory, research, and practice in the following areas of concentration:
- Educational Technology
- Teaching and Learning
Aimed at working professionals as well as full-time students, the Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) can be completed in four to five years depending on prior coursework. Required core courses examine critical topics ranging from leadership strategies to diversity and equity to advanced research methods.
