THAT WAS FUNNicole
BACKGROUND Thinking back on your childhood and adolescence, can you remember a teacher teaching something that was particularly interesting and memorable to you? What was being taught? How was the teacher teaching it? Why do you think it was such an effective learning experience for you? My 6th grade teacher taught us about the Olympics. We learned that the Olympics was a celebration of the athletic talents of all the people of the world. It was especially interesting learning about the Olympics since our teacher herself was the 100-Meter Breaststroke Women's Gold medalist in 1972! She brought in her medal to share with the class. I remember how exciting it was to hear about her travels to Munich, West Germany. I was amazed to find out that she had competed in the Olympics, for at the time I didn't realize that teachers had much of a life outside the classroom. This learning experience was particularly effective because our teacher was sharing her own person experiences with us.only consume so many Edible Book Reports.)
