BACKGROUND

The experience of being biracial, I think, more than anything else. To me, it has made me see the world as people and not as merely races, I have gotten the advantage of experiencing 2 cultures.

..... In 12th grade, I was accepted to SDSU. I told my college advisor and he got it announced on the announcement system that I was the first person at my high school to be accepted to SDSU. It felt really good. My math teacher even put the announcement up on his wall of fame board.

There were 2 people who played an important role in this experience. First, my college advisor who put it in the daily bulletin and got it announced and second, my math teacher who made a big deal over it. That made me feel really good.
