I went to school most of my lifetime in Mexico. It takes me twice as much time to say something in English. This is because my thinking processing is initially in the Spanish language.


.....When I was in 7th grade, I had a home economics class. My English skills were not as high as the ones of my classmates. The teacher did not allow me to cook or participate in many activities. I always felt left out. As a teacher, I would ask other students who are bilingual or who have good communication skills to work with their fellow classmates who have limited English skills.
