During my 5th
grade year, I had decided to join the music program. Having
learned all my music and practiced all the rudiments and
exercises, I was able to play the snare drum - the most
challenging instrument for our elementary rhythm section.
Our first performance required a drum roll in which I was
selected to play. My instructor always allowed us to
progress at our own pace. She also made us rotate
instruments so everyone had a chance to play all the
instruments.
