came to the United States at the age of thirteen by myself.
I worked my way through Junior High and High school. I had
one goal in mind: Finish school and help my mother. I view
the world as an immigrant who came to the United States and
tried to fit in with a different way of life.
Prejudice- Destroying Story In High school I had a chance to
work with a group of "popular" girls who I was prejudiced
against. I thought these cheerleaders were snotty and
everything came easy for them. We were contestant on a
beauty pageant. I did not win first place but received an
award for Miss. Congeniality. I never thought I could get
along with these kind of girls but I enjoyed spending time
with them. I found that we had some things in
common
