PREJUDICE-REDUCING
EXPERIENCE BACKGROUND
When I was a junior in high school, I took an oceanography class. Our final project was to do a Kelp Ecology Lab. I really enjoyed doing this lab because it provided good hands on experience. We were able to go to many different beaches and collect different kelp samples. I felt that I learned much more by actually going out and collecting different species of kelp rather than just viewing pictures of them in a textbook. The teacher helped to make learning fun by providing fun and exciting ways to learn. I looked forward to the assignment and have since retained much of the information I learned years ago.
