PREJUDICE-ENFORCING EXPERIENCE
Nene

BACKGROUND
Sex: female
Ethnicity:
Mexican-American
Born in:
Mexico
Parents born in:
Mexico

Thinking back to my adolescence experience I became prejudiced towards cheerleaders, Associated Students, those groups of kids who seemed to have it all. This happened because I was always teased due to my weight (very skinny). Other kids called me names and made me feel miserable. Then I looked at those students who seemed more attractive and had more friends and I envied them. I used to think very negative about them and criticized their actions.

The teachers seemed to not care or not notice what was going on. I felt they did not do anything to resolve the situation when kids did not want to pick me for their team.
