One thing that may make me see the world differently is that I don't believe in God.
The majority of people in the US believe in a God, go to a church or temple, pray and
believe in heaven and hell. I hold many of the same values as religious people but I
didn't learn than through religion. I learned them from my parents and through my
education.
.....
In 6th grade I was elected school president. I had worked hard on my posters and
speech for the election. When I won the position, I felt very proud of myself and
excited for the things I would get to do.
I remember when the teacher announced that I had won. She then asked if I was there. I was so mad that she
didn't know I was in class that day. I think she smiled and said congratulation, I can't remember. I remember being
disappoint that she never congratulated me personally, aside from the class.
