BACKGROUND

I was in 10th grade when I entered to high school. I remember I felt important in my algebra class because I
was the smartest girl of the whole class. Everything the teacher was teaching us, I already knew. I always
answered the teacher's questions and I always was volunteering. There were times in where I taught the
teacher a better and easier way to teaching and solve a problem. Also, I was always helping and teaching my
classmates. I am never going to forget that math class because it made me feel really important.My teacher was very surprised because I was always interrupting the class to make comments or better solutions. The algebra class was bilingual, but my teacher could not speak Spanish very well. Also, half of the class were Americans. Even though, I did not speak English well enough, I always raised my hand to make comments. I remember that there were times when the teacher got mad because students used to say that some of my math methods were better and easier to follow.
