BACKGROUND
Sex: female
Ethnicity:Caucasian
Born in:Los Angeles, CA
Parents born in:US

In the 7th grade, I was one of about seven students chosen from my core of 120 students to attend a "Just Say No" to drugs rally with Nancy Reagan. I was chosen because of good citizenship and effort demonstrated in all subject areas. This made me feel very special and important because even though I was not a straight A student, my effort and motivation were recognized. The recognition that I received has continue to help motivate me in doing the best that I can.

My core teachers played an important role because even though I was not a straight A student, they saw my other quality characteristics as well. Therefore, my motivation, effort and good attitude were recognized, making me feel very special and that all of my hard work was worthwhile.
