..... I can't really remember what grade I was in when I started to work on my divisions, but when this subject came around (math), I wasn't always excited. In school I was taught one way of dividing and at home, I was taught a different way. To me, it was easier for me to do my division the way I was taught at home and this made me feel left out in school/class because I felt like I was different because I didn't do division like everyone else in class.

The teacher would always try to make me work on my division the way he taught it only and this made me feel like the way I did division was wrong and that I would never do it the way it was taught in school. Maybe if the teacher would take into consideration the fact that all children learn differently and that they can't be forced to learn something the way the teacher might want it would give the student the opportunity to know that it's OK to learn something in different ways. Students learn from teachers, but teachers can also learn from students.
