BACKGROUND

When I was in the first grade, my entire class was being punished during recess by sitting outside together. Two friends and I got into trouble
by talking and giggling. We had to write a letter to our parents, while the other children were allowed to watch a movie. We were to take the
letters to our parents and have them sign it. I was very embarrassed that I had to write a letter to my parents, but frightened to tell my teacher
my parents were out of town and would not be able to sign the letter. I also felt the other children were talking too, gut only a few were singled
out. I eventually told my teacher my parents would not be able to sign the letter, and my brother signed it for me.I felt the teacher had singled us out. I was very frightened of this teacher, which a young child should not be scared of their teachers.
