During my freshman year of high school, one of my teachers told the class that we would be having a take-home exam the next day. He said that we did not have to worry about studying because we could use our books, go to the library, or access any resource to help us answer the questions, To the class' surprise, the exam was given in class the next day. No one had studied because he told us that it would be a take-home exam. Therefore, the majority of the class failed, including me. This was a very belittling experience because I received an undeserved F on an exam.

My teacher did not fulfill his duties to be honest and helpful to his students. In turn, his lack of responsibility put students' grades and chance for future success in jeopardy.

Teacher need to always be open and willing to help students do their best. Teachers are there to assist and help. Therefore, in order to do the best job, teachers must be honest with the students (and with themselves as well). A teacher must always remember to be positive and never forget that he/she is responsible for broadening the knowledge of his/her students.
