Bilingual Credential Programs
The Bilingual Credential is available to students interested in teaching in a bilingual elementary or secondary school classroom. The credential authorizes the holder
- to provide instruction in the primary language (within the authorized subject area for single subject or within a self-contained classroom across content areas for multiple subjects)
- to teach in designated English Language Development (ELD) classrooms, and to provide specially designated content instruction in English.
- to teach in any bilingual, sheltered or regular classroom corresponding to the credential area.

Bilingual & Special Education Dual Credential (ALAS)
This dual credential teacher preparation program is designed for Bilingual individuals proficient in Spanish and English seeking a Bilingual credential and who are interested in obtaining an additional credential as an Education Specialist in Mild/ Moderate disabilities. This is an intensive two-year credential program for highly committed individuals interested in meeting the specific needs of English language learners in California.
