Freshmen

Four-Year Planning

During your freshman year, you will be contacted by your high school counselor to set up an Individualized Student Plan for graduation.  They will make sure that you will meet all of the graduation requirements for high school, plus all of the A-G requirements that you will need to apply to SDSU, another CSU campus or a UC campus.

Your next official trip to SDSU-- 10th Grade Visits

Next year, you will have the chance to visit SDSU during the fall to be a “freshman for a day.”  A presentation on college admissions and the Compact will be followed by a campus tour by an SDSU student, lunch and time to hang out on campus and a chance to set up or make changes to your CSUMentor (http://www.csumentor.edu) account with a counselor there to help you!

If you want to go, you have to be on-track!  Only the top 240 students (60 per day) can attend, so keep getting A’s and B’s in your classes to make sure you have a 3.0 GPA!

If you can’t wait to see and learn more about State, you can visit SDSU any time to check out the campus and take a tour arranged through the Prospective Student Center.  Tours in Spanish can be arranged if you want to bring a non-English speaking family member or friend.  http://monet.sdsu.edu/es/mysdsu/myTourSDSU.html

San Ysidro

If you are new to Sweetwater because you attended a San Ysidro School District middle school, we welcome you!  During your Four-Year Planning session with your counselor, you will be informed of the benefits available to you as a Compact for Success student.  If you maintain a 3.0 GPA this year, we’ll see you next year in the fall at one of SYHS’ 10th Grade Visits to SDSU.
