10th Grade Visits

If your grades were good during your 9th grade year (3.0 and up, you will be invited at the beginning of your 10th grade year to attend the 10th Grade Visits to SDSU.  The visits run from August to December, allowing each school to send their 240 top Compact for Success students (60 per day) to enjoy a day at SDSU.

CSUMentor

Even if you don’t get to attend the 10th Grade Visit to SDSU, you can still start your college application online today!  Open a free account at http://www.csumentor.edu and sit down with a transcript of your previous coursework.  You can enter your A-G classes that you have completed since 7th grade.  Each semester, you can update it and when the time comes to apply to SDSU during the fall of your senior year, you will have already completed the majority of your application!  Plus, your application will be in the system for any other CSU campus.

Prepare for the SAT—Take the PSAT

Taking the Preliminary SAT can give you a good idea in advance of areas that you might need help on for the SAT.  It is recommended that students take the PSAT during the fall semester of their junior year and the actual SAT in the spring.  Many 10th grade students throughout the country take the PSAT early and/or more than one time for the practice and feedback.  Tell your counselor about your plans and they can help you sign up.
