January 2: New Year’s Day observed.

January 4: Registration begins

January 16: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Faculty/staff holiday. Campus closed.

January 17: First day of Spring semester; last day to officially withdraw for the spring 2012 semester and receive a full refund

January 18: First day of classes

Jan. 18–Feb. 2: Fee payments accepted for late registration. Last opportunity to pay late basic tuition and fees is 3:30 p.m. on February 2.

February 2: Last day to add classes or change grading basis. No schedule adjustments allowed after 11:59 p.m. on this date.

January 31: Last day to drop classes. No drops allowed after 11:59 p.m. on this date.

February 1: Applications accepted for Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree for December 2012 graduation.

March 26-April 30: Spring recess.

March 30: Cesar Chavez Day.

April 5–May 22: Theses may be submitted to Montezuma Publishing on an at-risk basis. However, May 2012 graduation is contingent upon completion of final processing by 12 noon, May 20. Students missing this deadline will be required to reapply for graduation for the term in which they expect to graduate.

May 8: Last day of classes before final examinations.

May 18: Last day of spring semester.

May 20: Commencement ceremony at 1 P.M., Viejas Arena
