The Department of Child and Family Development is a highly integrated academic unit within the College of Education. The Department offers a B.S. in Child Development in Applied Arts and Sciences and a Master of Science degree in Child Development.

Students may prepare for teaching credentials and specialized certification (e.g., a teacher of single/multiple subjects in elementary or secondary education, or a family life educator by completing a 15-unit certificate program).

A child development major provides preparation for graduate study in child or family development, social work, counselor or special education, law and the social sciences.
